Hello everyone,

I am Diana Basseyn, this is my second year at The University of Colorado Denver. I was born in Belarus but my family and I immigrated to the United States when I was just a youngster. I've lived in Colorado for almost my whole life but I would like to see more of the world and it's wonders. This is why I have chosen Dubai for my location. It is quite a magnificent city with a lot of various diversities that I would like to learn more about. I enjoy going to school  in Denver but I have always thought that the city was kind of small compared to a place like Dubai, with all sorts of really tall, and unique structures. I'm the kind of person that would like to admire and appreciate architecture or landscapes in any country in the world, from any culture, even if it's in the desert! The way humans modify the Earth has always intrigued me, and Dubai is a great example of how far people have come in infrastructure and development  to be able to create such a glorious city in such dry climate. I picked Dubai because it's a perfect example of new technologies, ideas, and I believe that this city can influence the world with their achievements. I mean, where else can you find a palm shaped, man-made island?
